South Pole Sunset
The sun sets at the South Pole just once a year… it lasts one week long.
This past week my winter-over friends who are still at South Pole have been sharing some staggeringly beautiful pics of this remarkable event. I don’t know what to say… Antarctica continues to find new ways to surprise me, amaze me, and to pull my mind back into the Ice.
I commend my friends and all 41 winter-overs who have now joined a select group in history to witness a South Pole sunset and who will now endure 6 months of darkness at the bottom of the world. I wish I could be there with them at this extraordinary moment.
Thank you to Jase and Jean-Pierre for the pics.
Fascinating.
